3nity had the honour to host a talk entitled “It’s Personal” featuring Stefen Chow, an award-winning photographer who was born in Malaysia and raised in Singapore. The event was about how art takes an active role in social innovation, with a sharing of works done by Chow and Lin, an artist duo by Stefen Chow and his wife, Huiyi Lin.

The crux of Chow and Lin’s practice lies in their methodology of statistical, mathematical and computational techniques to address global issues. Their works have been exhibited worldwide and are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Chicago, China Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum at Beijing and other private collections.

We spent a meaningful morning with Chow, taking an inside look at his inspiring journey from a photographer to an artist duo, using art as a “weapon” to express personal interests and concerns about social issues.
