Joseph was invited by the Nanjing University of the Arts for a week-long workshop on Social Innovation Design for the Master of Arts students in Design and Design Theory.

Students were asked to make inner and outer observations, followed by documenting issues that are close to their heart. After sessions of discussion and brainstorming, students presented their ideas and solutions on the issues observed.

The takeaway from the workshop is that modernisation is a double-edge sword, especially in major cities of Asia. There is a significant need to balance between capitalisation and basic values of life.
